Why Greensulate™?       Applications       Environment       Specs       FAQ       Availability

The green initiative

Greensulate™ starts saving energy even before you install it, since the production of Greensulate™ requires far
less energy than the same quantity of typical synthetic foam insulations. A home constructed with Greensulate™ rigid board insulation will have excellent thermal resistance and a tighter envelope, keeping your house comfortable in the
summer and the winter, while using less energy.

As natural as wood

A well insulated home will cut your cooling or heating bill, and help reduce your carbon footprint. Greensulate™ is all natural, comprised of local agricultural byproducts like cotton burrs and buckwheat hulls. Because our production process uses a growing organism to bind these seed husks into a strong rigid board, there are no glues or other resins used in our products. We strive to use regional resources, such as rice hulls from the American Mid-West, or cotton burrs from the American South-East, keeping transportation emissions and costs down.

A safe home environment for your family

Greensulate™ features a class 1 fire rating offering the upmost protection for your home and family during a fire. Additionally, Greensulate™ is safe to touch and can be installed with out any special equipment. There are no spores or allergy concerns associated with the use of this product, and Greensulate™ passes ASTM tests for mold growth, water sorption, and vapor transmission. Best of all, Greensulate™ uses no synthetic binders and is chemical and VOC free.

The Ecovative team: committed to a better world

Ecovative was founded around the principle of a triple bottom line, which means in addition to profits, we strive to create products which are good for our planet and benefit the people who use them and make them. We also work hard to minimize our environmental impact in our production facility and offices. When sourcing materials, engineering equipment, and setting up production sites, we assess the environmental impact at each stage. We use almost all recycled furniture, energy efficient laptops and are vigilant about recycling and re-use.
