Bookkeeper / Purchasing Associate 

Ecovative is seeking a detail oriented and highly organized Bookkeeper / Purchasing Associate to perform a variety of day to day finance functions, including entering transactions, verifying accuracy of entered information, maintaining financial filing system, helping prepare reports as needed, and completing other duties as required.

This role involves:

  • Maintain accurate and up to date electronic and paper filing system for all financial records, including but not limited to posting transactions, scanning, file naming, and vendor profile updates.

  • Perform accounts payable functions including preparation and verification of transactions, expense typing and classing, scheduling timely vendor payments, and responding to general vendor inquiries.

  • Perform accounts receivable functions including invoice creation, sales tax collection, shipping and handling cost collection, preparing and remitting sales tax reports and payments, recording cash receipts, preparing deposits, and making deposits.

  • Facilitates purchasing by collaborating with all levels of the organization to ensure that all purchases are issued in a timely manner, delivered on time at an optimal price, and processed only after receiving appropriate authorizations.  

  • Verify and enter credit card transactions.

  • Provide purchasing support, including matches and tracking.

  • Assist with payroll, benefits, and commercial insurance, including but not limited to schedule maintenance, wage distribution, payroll taxes, proper classing, and data collection for audits and renewals. 


Minimum Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Associate's degree in Accounting or Business Administration with a minimum of two years in a financial support role; HS Diploma will be considered with a minimum of four years relevant experience

  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Quick comprehension and motivation focused on cost efficiency

  • Able to effectively prioritize multiple tasks

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple detail-orientated tasks

  • Able to perform well individually and within team environments

  • Confidentiality  

 Preferred Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Degree in Accounting.

  • Two years’ experience using Quickbooks.

  • Knowledge of GAAP.
