Business Development Associate
Ecovative is seeking an individual to help us biofabricate the future. If you are excited about the intersection of design, biology, and engineering and want to help grow the products of the future, read on! We are looking for a motivated candidate to join us in a business development capacity on a temporary basis (3 – 6 month term) with potential to be in a full time capacity.
This role involves:
Review incoming sales opportunities and inquiries, sort and review to determine value propositions, and partner with management to determine level of investment. This function will be a minimum of 60% of the role.
Identification of prospective commercial partners for the company’s MycoComposite™ platform (e.g., Mushroom® Packaging) based on value chain assessments. This will include completing initial “voice of customer” conversations, developing small business plans (executive summaries) and pitch deck for addressable markets.
Evaluate services that the business can provide to engage a breadth of new MycoComposite™ users. This ranges from individual product developers to small to medium sized enterprises.
Complete value chain assessments for new territories in which the company’s MycoComposite™ products (e.g., Mushroom® Protective Packaging) do not presently serve.
Minimum Qualifications and Competencies:
Interested applicants must be passionate (ideally about biology, sustainability, & technology) and demonstrate their interest in Ecovative through a compelling cover letter.
Customer service experience.
We are open to recent graduates that have experience developing financial models (e.g., Profit and Loss Statements, Balance Sheets). This can include course work, but priority is given to those with some in-field experience.
We are most interested in applicants that distinguish themselves with unique projects and diverse interests and are less interested in your GPA.
Experience developing financial models.
Must possess exceptional organizational and communication skills.
Independently driven; team player.
Preferred Qualifications and Competencies:
Experience within a manufacturing operation.
Understanding of “cost of motion” assessments.
