Materials Testing Technician (Part time)Click to Expand
Ecovative Design is seeking to hire a Materials Testing Technician to perform a variety of
mechanical, biological, and quality testing procedures to evaluate materials for key metrics
and ensure our materials meet customer expectations. The Technician will measure parts,
make observations and operate an Instron machine system to test parts for various
characteristics. This role will also explore new testing methods and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications and Competencies
Pursuing or obtained a degree in mechanical engineering or material science and/or 3+
years experience with mechanical testing; Excellent at organizing large amounts of data;
Proficiency in computer operation and ability to learn new software programs; Diligent;
Observant and analytical; superior attention to detail; Self motivated and independent; Great
time manager and multi-tasker; Confident communicator; Reliable; Flexible.
Preferred Qualifications and Competencies
Experience working with Instron testing machines and software, prior experience in a quality
role at a manufacturing facility.

Consumer Bio Product Developer (Part Time)Click to Expand
Ecovative is seeking to hire a Consumer Bio Product Developer to work on kits, products, and
processes for the GROW.bio audience. (GROW.bio is an ecommerce platform and community
for designers/creators to experiment with biomaterials for the first time) This part time role at
Ecovative will require, at minimum, an 8-hour weekly commitment on Fridays.
This role will explore new materials outside of our traditional mycelium technology, but will
require an extensive amount of work with Mushroom Mycelium production working to bring
processes and techniques into kits and tutorials. This role will require working alongside a
partner both training them and collaborating with them on projects. Working quickly with a
“move fast and break things” methodology is ideal.
5+ Years of experience in a biomaterials production R&D background. Extensive work
prototyping and exploring new methodologies for bio-based products, particularly living
mushroom spawn and inoculation. Great multi-tasker and communicator, flexible, and team
Preferred Qualifications and Competency’s
Experience working around Bacteria, Yeast, and Algae biomaterials, and mycelium with an
emphasis on mushroom growth/production. Prior experience with Chemistry and Safety
protocols with chemicals.
