Education & Community Outreach Internship
Education is a large component of what we do, and our success lies in the dispersion of our knowledge amongst every folk as much as tech transfers to companies. We are looking for someone with the ability to clearly communicate what we do at Ecovative, our process for growing material, what the material can and can’t do, and get it into the hands of teacher/educators/homes. In addition, establish lasting relationships with our Capital Region community and the greater state of NY, perhaps the country and beyond.
This internship involves:
Working closely with other interns (particularly Video/ Animation) and Ecovative employees
Highlight mycology in easy-to-understand formats and terms for the everyday person to facilitate this education in a school/STEM classroom/homeschool format, broaden our impact. A deliverable would be a formal education program, complete with video resources, hands outs, literature, to create a workshop and conveyance of knowledge in a repeatable format.
Our ideal candidate has these characteristics:
Can work full time in the office (Mon.-Fri. 8 am - 5pm).
Commit to Summer 2019 (June-August).
Proficient in the Adobe Suite & Graphic Design skills.
prior involvement with teaching.
Passion for science and sustainability is a must!
